Repeals and replaces Section 1-2 of the general statutes, effective October 1, 2021, to expand options for publishing legal notices required by law.

Permits legal notices required to be published in daily newspapers to instead be published in weekly newspapers or posted on municipal Internet websites for towns, cities, and boroughs.

Maintains all existing time requirements for providing legal notices, with no reduction in notice periods.

Requires that newspapers selected for legal notices have substantial circulation in the town where at least one affected party resides, unless otherwise prescribed by statute or court order.
