Committee Bill No. 760 Summary

• Prohibits press and news media representatives from publishing, transmitting, broadcasting, or disseminating photographic, digital, or video images of fatal motor vehicle accident scenes until receiving confirmation from investigating police that a family or household member has been notified of the fatality.

• Requires confirmation from the police officer, agency, or other individual investigating the accident before any publication is permitted.

• References section 14-108a of Connecticut general statutes regarding notification procedures for fatal accidents.

• Becomes effective October 1, 2021.
