Substitute Senate Bill No. 892 Summary

• Establishes a Criminal Justice Commission composed of the Chief State's Attorney and six members nominated by the Governor and appointed by the General Assembly, including two Superior Court judges, effective October 1, 2021.

• Creates the Office of the Inspector General as a separate office within the Division of Criminal Justice, led by a deputy chief state's attorney appointed by the Criminal Justice Commission by majority vote.
