Commissioner of Motor Vehicles shall issue special vehicle registration plates and certificates to members of Hmong Laotian special guerilla units who served in the U.S. secret war in Laos during the Vietnam War, with verification from the Department of Veterans Affairs within 30 days of request.

Members of Hmong Laotian special guerilla units must submit affidavits detailing when and where they served, their unit, capacity, corroborating witness statements, official documentation, and supporting documents to qualify for veteran benefits.

Motor vehicle operator's licenses and identity cards may display veteran status for Hmong Laotian special guerilla unit members upon verification by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

State shall pay $1,800 toward funeral and burial expenses for deceased veterans and Hmong Laotian special guerilla unit members with insufficient estates, with claims valid for one year after death.

Commissioner of Veterans Affairs shall award ribbons and medals to state residents who served in Hmong Laotian special guerilla units upon submission of required affidavits and supporting documentation.
