Each local and regional school board must compile and annually update a comprehensive list of mental and emotional health resources available to students and families, including resources from the board, community providers, school-based health centers, and the state.

School boards must post the resource list on their Internet website and distribute it to parents at least semiannually in September and May of each school year, with each resource including a telephone number, email address, or Internet link.

Beginning with the 2021-2022 school year, students enrolled in health and safety courses must receive an age and developmentally appropriate list of available mental and emotional health resources, including national youth suicide prevention helplines accessible by text message.

The act takes effect July 1, 2021, and applies to all school years thereafter.
