Assessments and sewer charges not paid within 30 days of the due date become delinquent and accrue interest at the same rate as delinquent property taxes.

Municipalities and regional sewer authorities may assign liens for unpaid sewer assessments and connection charges to third parties for consideration, allowing assignees to enforce liens through foreclosure and collect costs and reasonable attorneys' fees.

Liens on owner-occupied real estate cannot be enforced or assigned unless the total principal amount of all liens exceeds $10,000, providing protection for homeowners with smaller debts.

All foreclosure actions and legal proceedings must be conducted in a commercially reasonable manner with respect to costs, attorneys' fees, advertising, timing, and other terms.
