The Commissioner of Correction shall convey a approximately 3-acre parcel of state land in Somers to the town at a cost equal to administrative expenses and land survey costs, subject to State Properties Review Board approval.

The town of Somers must use the parcel exclusively for public safety purposes, and the land reverts to the state if the town fails to use it for that purpose, does not retain full ownership, or leases any portion of it.

The Commissioner of Correction retains an easement on the parcel for use as a fire department staging area.

The State Properties Review Board must complete its review of the conveyance within 30 days of receiving the proposed agreement from the Department of Correction.

The State Treasurer shall execute the necessary deed or instrument to carry out the conveyance, with the Commissioner of Correction responsible for all other aspects of the transaction.
