Licensed pharmacists may administer FDA-approved influenza vaccine to persons aged 12-17 with parental or guardian consent, effective July 1, 2022.

Pharmacists may continue to administer any FDA-approved vaccine on the CDC's Adult Immunization Schedule to adults aged 18 and older.

All vaccine administration by pharmacists must be conducted pursuant to a licensed health care provider's order.

Pharmacists administering vaccines must complete an immunization training program covering pre-administration screening, vaccine storage and handling, injections, recordkeeping, vaccine safety, CPR, basic cardiac life support, and adverse event reporting.

The Commissioner of Consumer Protection, in consultation with the Commissioners of Public Health and Pharmacy, shall establish regulations to define training program requirements and identify qualifying accredited programs.
