Commissioner of Consumer Protection shall adopt regulations by December 31, 2022, to establish a residential vertical platform lift technician's license, in consultation with the Elevator Installation, Repair and Maintenance Board.

Regulations shall specify experience, training, continuing education, and examination requirements for obtaining and renewing residential vertical platform lift technician's licenses.

Initial license fee is $150 with annual renewal fees of $75; licenses are valid for one year from date of issuance.

Holders of occupational licenses that already permit installation and repair of residential vertical platform lifts are exempt from obtaining the new technician's license.
