Amends Connecticut General Statutes section 15-13(b) effective July 1, 2022 to establish criteria for granting route extensions to pilots licensed by the Connecticut Port Authority.

Requires applicants to hold a federal first class pilot's license of unlimited tonnage issued by the United States Coast Guard covering the specific Connecticut waters and Long Island Sound sections for which extension is requested.

Requires applicants to document six round trips through the port or waterway within the 36 months before application, either as an observing pilot under supervision of a state-licensed pilot or as pilot of record on American enrolled vessels.

Applies to pilots currently licensed for eastern Long Island Sound and at least one of the ports of New London, New Haven, or Bridgeport.
