• Repeals and replaces Section 19a-602 of the general statutes, effective October 1, 2022, to expand abortion access in Connecticut.

• Establishes that the decision to terminate a pregnancy prior to fetal viability is solely the patient's choice in consultation with a physician, advanced practice registered nurse, nurse-midwife, or physician assistant.

• Permits abortions after fetal viability only when necessary to preserve the life or health of the patient.

• Authorizes advanced practice registered nurses, nurse-midwives, and physician assistants licensed in Connecticut to perform medication and aspiration abortions, in addition to physicians.
