Public agencies may hold meetings accessible by electronic equipment or hybrid in-person and electronic formats, effective July 1, 2021.

Agencies must provide 48 hours advance notice to members and post meeting notices and agendas in multiple locations (agency office, Secretary of State website, and agency website if applicable) at least 24 hours before regular meetings.

Public members attending remotely must receive a physical location upon 24-hour written request, equal opportunities to comment and participate, and agencies must record or transcribe meetings (excluding executive sessions) and post recordings within 7 days for at least 45 days.

All votes when any member participates electronically must be by roll call unless unanimous, and meeting minutes must list members attending in person versus electronically.

Regional school district public meetings held to present budgets may be conducted electronically or as hybrid meetings under the same remote meeting provisions.
