Department of Public Health shall maintain and operate a state-wide stroke registry using the American Heart Association's stroke care program data set platform and consensus metrics, effective October 1, 2022

Comprehensive stroke centers, thrombectomy-capable stroke centers, primary stroke centers, and acute stroke-ready hospitals must submit quarterly stroke care data to the Department of Public Health beginning January 1, 2023

Participating hospitals must provide access to their records to the Department of Public Health for case finding and quality improvement audits to ensure reporting completeness and data accuracy

Department of Public Health may contract for data storage and maintenance and enter into reciprocal reporting agreements with other states to exchange stroke care data

By January 1, 2023, the Department of Public Health shall establish a stroke registry data oversight committee in consultation with the State of Connecticut Stroke Advisory Council to monitor operations, develop quality improvement plans, and address disparities in stroke care
