Hospitals and outpatient surgical facilities must obtain express written consent on a written or electronic form before performing pelvic, prostate, or rectal examinations on patients under deep sedation, general anesthesia, or unconscious, with exceptions for emergency/urgent care situations and examinations within the scope of planned procedures (effective January 1, 2023).

Medical students, residents, and clinical trainees performing intimate examinations solely for training purposes must obtain separate written patient consent detailing their involvement.

Physicians must complete at least 50 contact hours of continuing medical education within 24 months for license renewal, including mandatory training on sexual assault, domestic violence, cultural competency covering systemic racism and effects on transgender and gender diverse persons, and screening for endometriosis (effective October 1, 2022).

The University of Connecticut Health Center must develop a plan to establish an endometriosis data and biorepository program to collect standardized phenotypic data and biological samples from diverse populations for research on early detection, treatment strategies, and therapeutic options (report due January 1, 2023).

The Department of Public Health breast and cervical cancer early detection program must prioritize women in minority communities, provide screening services including mammography with tomosynthesis where possible and pap tests, and ensure tracking and follow-up of abnormal results (effective October 1, 2022).
