Repeals and replaces Section 7-34a of the general statutes effective October 1, 2022, establishing new recording fee schedules for town clerks processing land record documents.

Sets recording fees at $10 for the first page and $5 for each subsequent page of documents; reduces fees to $116 for mortgagee nominees on first pages and establishes $159 fees for certain mortgage assignments and releases by nominees.

Establishes a $10 per-document fee to be split between the state (2/5 to General Fund and 2/5 to historic documents preservation account) and town clerks (1/5 for local historic document preservation).

Establishes a $40 per-document fee to be split with $1 retained by town clerks, $3 to municipality general revenue for capital improvements, and $36 to state community investment account.

Allows town clerks to accept fee payments through designated internet websites and exempts documents recorded by state or municipal employees in official duties from the additional $10 and $40 fees.
