Repeals and replaces Section 38a-723 of the general statutes effective October 1, 2022, redefining "public adjuster" to include persons or entities that prepare, document, submit, negotiate, adjust, or settle first-party property insurance claims on behalf of insureds for compensation.

Exempts lawyers settling claims of clients from being classified as public adjusters.

Directs the Insurance Commissioner to adopt regulations establishing continuing education requirements for public adjusters in accordance with Chapter 54 of the general statutes, effective October 1, 2022.

All provisions of the act take effect on October 1, 2022.
