HB 5404 Summary

• Adds a new sales and use tax exemption for water companies under Connecticut General Statutes Section 12-412, subdivision (126).

• Exempts sales of personal property and services to water companies used for maintaining, operating, managing or controlling ponds, reservoirs, streams, wells, distributing plants or systems.

• Exemption applies only to water companies serving fifty or more customers, as defined in Section 16-1 of the general statutes.

• Effective July 1, 2022, and applies to all sales occurring on or after that date.
