Amends Connecticut General Statutes Section 53a-19(b) to eliminate the duty to retreat before using deadly physical force in a house of religious worship owned by or held in trust for any religious organization

Individuals in a house of religious worship are no longer required to retreat if they can avoid using deadly force with complete safety, matching existing exemptions for dwellings and workplaces

Maintains existing exceptions for peace officers, special policemen under Section 29-18b, and private persons assisting them under Section 53a-22

Allows individuals to defend themselves or third persons using deadly physical force without retreating when in a religious house of worship

Effective October 1, 2022
