Water companies serving 1,000 or more persons must sample their distribution systems quarterly starting October 1, 2022, testing for coliform, residual disinfectant, pH, turbidity, and temperature at sites representative of water entering hospitals and nursing homes.

Sample results must be reported to the Department of Public Health in accordance with section 19-13-B102 of Connecticut state agency regulations.

Water companies that add chlorine or chloramine to drinking water or purchase chlorinated drinking water must maintain a minimum residual disinfectant concentration of 0.1 parts per million throughout their entire distribution system, effective October 1, 2022.
