Municipalities and special taxing districts cannot diminish or eliminate retirement benefits for retirees based on pension and retirement systems in effect as of July 11, 2007.

Municipalities and special taxing districts are prohibited from reducing or eliminating retiree pension benefits due to permanent partial disability benefits received under sections 31-308 or 31-308a on or after October 1, 2022.

Administrative changes to retirement benefits are permitted if the rights and benefits provided after the change are at least equivalent to those provided before the change.

Collective bargaining agreements in effect before October 1, 2022 are not impaired or altered by this act.

The act takes effect on October 1, 2022 and amends section 7-450c of the general statutes.
