Establishes a solid waste management working group to study and recommend strategic plans for short-term and long-term management and disposal of solid waste in Connecticut.

Working group consists of 16 members including legislative leaders from environment and energy committees, state commissioners, municipal representatives, and private sector operators from waste management, recycling, and energy facilities.

All initial appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date, with vacancies filled by the appointing authority.

Administrative staff from the joint standing committees on environment and energy shall support the working group.

Working group must submit findings and recommendations to the joint standing committees by January 1, 2023, and shall terminate on the report submission date or January 1, 2023, whichever is later.
