Landlords prohibited from maintaining eviction actions, demanding rent increases, refusing to renew leases, decreasing services, or discriminating against tenants solely because they are or have been victims of family violence, effective October 1, 2022.

Landlords cannot deem a tenant in violation of a rental agreement if the violation results from family violence committed against the tenant.

Tenant's status as a family violence victim may be documented through medical, court, or police records; statements from a domestic violence counselor; or statements from a licensed medical professional who provided services to the tenant.
