Commissioner of Correction must provide suitable space and technology by January 1, 2023, for incarcerated persons to prepare for and take the commercial driver's license knowledge test.

Eligible participants are incarcerated persons who will be reentering the community within six months or less and have no disqualifications or suspensions of driving privileges in any state.

Test preparation services will be provided by or in conjunction with regional workforce development boards established under state law.

Commissioner of Motor Vehicles must assign personnel and resources by January 1, 2023, to administer the test in written or electronic format at appropriate Department of Correction facilities.

Effective date of October 1, 2022, with implementation requirements due by January 1, 2023.
