Bill Summary: SB 378

• Waives all operator's license and registration fees, including renewal fees, for persons on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces, regardless of Connecticut residency at time of induction

• Provides a one-time fee waiver for one licensing period to veterans (as defined in section 27-103) who apply for an operator's license or registration within two years following separation from service

• Removes the requirement that active duty service members must have been Connecticut legal residents at the time of induction to qualify for the fee waiver

• Removes the requirement that veterans must have been Connecticut legal residents at the time of induction to qualify for the fee waiver

• Takes effect July 1, 2022 and authorizes the commissioner to adopt regulations to implement the provision
