Establishes a task force to study existing hydropower assets in Connecticut and review their benefits.

Task force consists of 8 members: one appointed by each of six legislative leaders (House Speaker, Senate President Pro Tempore, House Majority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, House Minority Leader, Senate Minority Leader), the Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection, and the chairperson of the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority.

Members appointed under subdivision (1) through (6) may be members of the General Assembly.

Initial appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date, with the first meeting scheduled no later than 60 days after the effective date.

Task force must submit a report with findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on energy and technology no later than February 1, 2024, and shall terminate upon submitting the report or on February 1, 2024, whichever is later.
