By January 1, 2025, class 2, 3, and 4 food establishments must post a clear and conspicuous request on menus and menu boards asking customers to notify their server of any food allergies before ordering.

By December 1, 2023, the Department of Public Health shall develop or approve an informational poster addressing common allergy-causing foods, server actions for allergic customers, cross-contact prevention methods, and emergency 911 procedures.

By March 1, 2024, all class 2, 3, and 4 food establishments must display the approved poster in their kitchen or designated staff area and require employees to view it and confirm in writing their familiarity with its contents.

Failure to display the required poster constitutes grounds for an inspection violation under Connecticut General Statutes section 19a-36l.

By February 1, 2024, the Commissioner of Public Health must report to the joint standing committee on public health regarding progress on implementing allergen training requirements under the food code.
