Veterans and active duty members of the armed forces receive 50% discount on all hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses, rounded to the next highest dollar, effective July 1, 2023.

The 50% veteran discount applies to all associated permits, tags, and stamps for hunting and fishing activities under sections 26-27b, 26-48a, 26-86a, and 26-86c.

"Veteran" and "armed forces" are defined according to section 27-103 of Connecticut general statutes.

Residents aged 16-17 and those under 18 also receive 50% discounts on licenses and permits respectively, matching the veteran discount structure.

Connecticut residents aged 65 and older who have been state residents for at least one year may obtain hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses without any fee.
