Department of Consumer Protection shall issue licenses to qualified applicants for skilled trades work, and holders must carry the license while working and display it upon request.

Contractors must display state license numbers on commercial vehicles and in conspicuous manner on printed advertisements, bid proposals, contracts, invoices, and stationery, or face fines up to $500 per violation (except first violation).

Contractors must include in electronic, television, or radio advertisements the address of a publicly accessible website where viewers can see the contractor's state license number.

Home improvement contractors must exhibit registration certificates upon request, state registration status in advertisements, include registration numbers in printed advertisements, and include website addresses for electronic advertisements where registration numbers are viewable.

Effective date is July 1, 2023 for amendments to sections 20-334(b) and 20-427(a) of the general statutes.
