HB 6626 Summary

• Repeals and replaces Section 17b-428 to allow the Commissioner of Social Services to submit a Medicaid state plan amendment to add PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program services within available appropriations, effective July 1, 2023.

• Designates the Department of Social Services as Connecticut's state administering agency responsible for establishing participation criteria for eligible individuals and PACE providers and making payments for PACE services from Medicaid funds.

• Authorizes the commissioner to adopt regulations and implement policies and procedures for PACE programs, with notice posted on the eRegulations System within 20 days of implementation.

• Requires nursing home facility administrators contracting with the state that admit inmates released from or parolees from other states to conduct comprehensive criminal history checks, including checks of the National Sex Offender Public Website, and ensure registration compliance for qualifying offenses.

• Repeals Section 17b-28c of the general statutes, effective July 1, 2023.
