All state agencies authorized to award financial assistance, including the Commissioner of Economic and Community Development, must include remedy provisions in their financial assistance agreements.

Remedy provisions must address situations where recipients willfully fail to comply with applicable state or federal law, regulation, rule, or executive order, including labor laws.

Permissible remedies include liquidated damages and repayment of financial assistance provided, though agencies may impose additional or alternative remedies as appropriate.

The act takes effect immediately upon passage and creates a new section in Connecticut general statutes.
