Department of Public Health shall conduct semi-annual inspections of all nursery schools and preschools in the state to detect lead in paint and water pipes, effective October 1, 2023.

Building owners must provide written notice to parents and guardians of each child within seven days of discovering lead in paint or water pipes in rooms or buildings where children are present during school hours or after-school activities.

Building owners must make all written notices available to the Department of Public Health for inspection upon request.
