Install wrong-way driving detection and notification systems on at least 120 highway exit ramps identified as high-risk for wrong-way driving, effective October 1, 2023.

Conduct a public awareness campaign educating drivers on how to reduce wrong-way driving incidents and actions to take when encountering wrong-way operators.

Require driver education programs in secondary schools to include classroom instruction on ways to reduce wrong-way driving incidents and appropriate responses when encountering wrong-way vehicles.

Establish a pilot program to test wrong-way driving detection, notification and broadcasting systems at highway exit ramps, with results and recommendations due to the transportation committee by January 1, 2025.

Provide a grant to the University of Connecticut to test directional rumble strips that alert drivers through vibration and sound when driving in the wrong direction, with a report due by January 1, 2025.
