Establishes the Connecticut Civics Education and Media Literacy Task Force to study and develop strategies for improving public school instruction on civics, citizenship, media literacy, and American government, including review of existing curricula and exploration of public-private partnerships.

Task force composition includes 12 members appointed by legislative leaders, the governor, and state officials, with at least 4 members required to be certified teachers or school administrators; first meeting must occur within 60 days of passage.

Task force must submit findings and recommendations to the education committee by January 1, 2024, and shall terminate on that date or when the report is submitted, whichever is later.

Effective July 1, 2025, amends section 10-16b of general statutes to explicitly include "civics and media literacy" as required subject matter within the social studies curriculum in Connecticut public schools.

State Board of Education shall provide curriculum materials and assist local boards in developing instructional programs that may include labor history and law, climate change, personal financial management, and instruction on the Safe Haven Act.
