Allows parties to fill candidate vacancies that occur more than 46 days before election day, with nomination certification required at least 42 days before the election.

If a nominee dies within 46 days but more than 24 hours before the election, the vacancy may be filled by 2 p.m. the day before the election.

If a nominee dies within 24 hours before the election, the nominee is not replaced and votes cast for them are counted; any resulting vacancy is filled by law after the election.

Requires municipal clerks to obscure the name of any candidate whose candidacy has been vacated if the vacancy is not filled, rather than leaving blank stickers on ballots.

Ensures vacancies in candidacies do not change the position of any candidate's name on the ballot; replacement candidates appear in the same position as the vacated candidacy.
