The superintendent of the Technical Education and Career System and the Chief Workforce Officer shall jointly study technical education and career school programs to determine alignment with available technical careers in the state, effective July 1, 2023.

The study shall evaluate skills and certifications required for available jobs, deficiencies in training or equipment at technical schools, and opportunities to partner with employers or labor organizations for apprenticeships and internships.

A joint report must be submitted to the education committee of the General Assembly no later than January 1, 2024, detailing findings and recommendations.

The report shall include legislative and policy recommendations for improving technical education and career school programs to align with skills required for available jobs in the state.
