• Establishes a task force to study minimum standards for timely repair of complex rehabilitation technology, including assessment and repair timelines by manufacturers and authorized service providers.

• Task force shall examine barriers to timely repair such as staff recruitment and retention, travel time, geographical service provider locations, supply chain issues, and parts availability.

• Task force shall survey consumers statewide on repair timeliness and costs, review how repairs are funded, and study repair policies and regulations in other states for potential adoption in Connecticut.

• Task force consists of 22+ members including consumers, disability rights advocates, manufacturers, authorized service providers, nonprofit representatives, insurance company representatives, and state commissioners and legislators appointed by legislative leaders.

• Task force shall submit findings and recommendations to relevant joint standing committees by February 1, 2024, and shall terminate upon submission of the report or February 1, 2024, whichever is later.
