Department of Public Health must evaluate EPA guidance and develop uniform standards for identifying, assessing, and remediating mold in residential housing by January 1, 2024.

Department must publish mold standards and guidelines on its website and develop a public awareness campaign including information on mold prevention, identification, and health risks.

A working group of 12 members appointed by Senate and House leadership must evaluate the connection between polybutylene pipes and indoor mold in residential and commercial buildings.

Working group members must have experience related to mold growth, prevention, abatement, or the impact of mold on public health.

Working group chairperson must report findings and legislative recommendations to the joint standing committee on public health by January 1, 2024.
