Establishes a task force to study the elderly nutrition program administered by the Department of Aging and Disability Services, including review of eligibility requirements, meal types, preparation and delivery costs, participant numbers versus estimated need, funding adequacy, and provider contracting processes.

Task force composition includes 12 members: two area agency representatives appointed by House speaker, one area agency and one nutrition provider appointed by Senate president pro tempore, three additional nutrition providers appointed by House and Senate majority and minority leaders, one senior citizen participant appointed by Senate minority leader, four legislative committee members, and commissioners from Aging and Disability Services and Social Services departments.

All initial appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date, with the House and Senate chairpersons of the human services committee serving as co-chairpersons and scheduling the first meeting by August 1, 2023.

Task force must submit its findings and recommendations report to the joint standing committees on aging and human services by January 15, 2024, and automatically terminates on the report submission date or January 15, 2024, whichever is later.

Administrative staff of the joint standing human services committee shall provide support to the task force.
