Establishes a task force to study the operations of the Department of Consumer Protection, effective upon passage.

Task force consists of eight members: two appointed by the House speaker, two by the Senate president pro tempore, one each by the House and Senate majority leaders, one each by the House and Senate minority leaders, and the Commissioner of Consumer Protection or designee.

Members appointed under House and Senate leadership positions may be General Assembly members; initial appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date.

Speaker of the House and Senate president pro tempore shall select task force chairpersons, who must schedule the first meeting within 60 days of the effective date.

Task force must submit a report with findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee on consumer protection by January 1, 2024, and shall terminate on that date or when the report is submitted, whichever is later.
