Substitute Senate Bill No. 1070 - Prosecutorial Accountability

• Division of Criminal Justice shall collect disaggregated, case-level data by docket number for defendants 18 years or older across 13 categories including arrests, arraignments, diversionary programs, plea agreements, trial cases, and demographics, effective October 1, 2023

• Data collection categories include contact between victims and prosecutors, dispositions, nonjudicial sanctions, court fees and fines, restitution amounts, and defendants' zip codes of primary residence

• Victim information that personally identifies individuals cannot be disclosed under public records law

• Criminal Justice Commission shall require each state's attorney to appear annually to provide testimony and comment on the collected data
