Commissioners of Education, Public Health, and Social Services shall jointly study the need for students to receive free meals in Connecticut schools and the associated costs.

Study shall consider the ability of students' families and municipalities to contribute to meal funding costs and estimate the state funding needed.

Commissioners must submit a joint report to the Appropriations Committee by October 1, 2023, detailing the study results.

Bill becomes effective upon passage and creates a new statutory section.
