Redefines "grocery store" for purposes of beer permit eligibility to require dedication of at least 30 percent of total retail sales area or 6,000 square feet (whichever is less) to canned goods, frozen foods, nonalcoholic beverages, and dry goods.

Allows stores meeting the definition to include service departments such as bakeries, florists, pharmacies, or retail service stations, as well as those offering household products or sundries.

Permits stores with redemption centers, as defined in section 22a-243, to qualify as grocery stores for beer permit purposes.

Excludes from "grocery store" definition any store primarily engaged in retail sale of bakery products, candy, nuts, confectioneries, dairy products, eggs, poultry, fruits, vegetables, or seafood.

Takes effect July 1, 2024, and amends section 30-20(a) of the general statutes.
