Prohibits possession, sale, offering for sale, trade, or distribution of shark fins, effective October 1, 2024.

Defines "shark" as any species of subclass Elasmobranchii, excluding species in order Batoidea and smooth-hounds, and "shark fin" as raw, dried, or processed fins or tails separated from a shark's body.

Exempts licensed shark hunters who separate fins or tails from lawfully landed sharks during ordinary food preparation, provided separated fins are immediately destroyed unless used for taxidermy.

Allows the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to issue permits for shark fin possession for scientific research or educational purposes.

Classifies violations as infractions, allowing fines to be paid by mail or contested according to Connecticut General Statutes Section 51-164n.
