Establishes a task force to study the operations of the Department of Consumer Protection, effective upon passage.

Task force consists of 10 members: two each appointed by the House speaker and Senate president pro tempore; one each appointed by House and Senate majority leaders; one each appointed by House and Senate minority leaders; the Commissioner of Consumer Protection or designee; and two persons appointed by the Governor.

All initial appointments must be made within 30 days of the effective date, with the first meeting held no later than 60 days after passage.

Task force must submit a report with findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee having cognizance of consumer protection matters no later than January 1, 2025.

Task force terminates on the date it submits its report or January 1, 2025, whichever is later; administrative staff support provided by the relevant joint standing committee.
