Commissioner of Social Services shall provide Medicaid coverage for medically necessary diagnosis and treatment of infertility beginning January 1, 2025, matching the same extent of coverage required under individual and group health insurance policies.

Coverage must meet federal Medicaid reimbursement requirements and use the same definitions of "medically necessary" and "infertility" found in existing state insurance law.

Commissioner must file a report by January 1, 2026, to the joint standing committee on human services detailing the number of Medicaid recipients who received infertility diagnosis and treatment during 2025.

Report must include recommendations for policy changes needed to ensure all eligible Medicaid recipients have access to infertility diagnosis and treatment services.

Legislation becomes effective October 1, 2024.
