The Domestic Violence Criminal Justice Response and Enhancement Advisory Council must study state court processes related to restraining orders (section 46b-15) and civil protection orders (section 46b-16a) when a military protection order is involved.

The study must include determining what appropriate relief a Superior Court judge should grant when presented with a military protection order that appears valid on its face.

"Military protection order" is defined as a protection order issued by a commanding officer in the U.S. armed forces or Connecticut National Guard against a person under that officer's command.

The council must consult with the Chief Court Administrator and the Adjutant General of the Military Department in conducting the study.

The council must report its findings in its annual report to the General Assembly on or before January 15, 2025.
