Commissioner of Children and Families must submit a report to the joint standing committee on children by January 1, 2025, evaluating short-term assessment and respite group homes that provide temporary congregate care to children.

Report shall assess the efficacy of such homes in providing care to children with significant behavioral health treatment needs.

Report shall evaluate the department's ability to retain qualified staff in these homes and provide specialized training to such staff.

Report shall examine the availability of structured pro-social, therapeutic, and clinical services offered in these group homes.

Section takes effect upon passage and creates a new section in the general statutes.
