Increases the unemployment compensation threshold for agricultural employers in Connecticut, effective July 1, 2024, by amending Section 31-222 of the general statutes.

Prior to January 1, 2025, employers must pay $20,000 or more in cash remuneration during any calendar quarter to agricultural workers to be subject to unemployment compensation requirements.

From January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, the threshold increases to $25,000 or more in cash remuneration during any calendar quarter based on the period January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.

On and after January 1, 2026, the threshold remains at $25,000 or more in cash remuneration during any calendar quarter in either the current or preceding calendar year.

Alternative threshold of employing 10 or more individuals for some portion of a day in each of 20 different calendar weeks remains available for employers not meeting the cash remuneration thresholds.
