The maternal mortality review committee shall develop educational materials on intimate partner violence toward pregnant and postpartum persons for distribution by January 1, 2025, in print to birthing hospitals and birth centers, and electronically to obstetrics providers.

The Department of Public Health shall distribute evidence-based screening tools for intimate partner violence, peripartum mood disorders, and substance use disorder to obstetrics providers and hospitals.

The Department of Public Health shall distribute indicators of intimate partner violence to hospitals for use by emergency department staff and social workers, and to obstetrics providers.

Each birthing hospital and birth center shall provide pregnant and postpartum patients with educational materials on intimate partner violence beginning January 1, 2025.

Existing requirements for birthing hospitals to provide postpartum patients with information on caesarean section mobility and mental health disorder educational materials remain in effect.
