Commissioner of Energy and Environmental Protection shall study the feasibility and potential benefits of developing a new reactor at an existing nuclear power generating facility in Connecticut, including small modular reactors.

Commissioner shall also study the impact of decommissioning Unit 1 reactor at an existing nuclear power generating facility in the state.

Commissioner must submit a report containing analysis and recommendations to the joint standing committee on energy by January 1, 2025.

Study takes effect upon passage of the legislation.
